How: Please join us in enjoying the cherry blossoms around the Tidal Basin and learning about American history while exploring memorials nearby. Each year, the National Cherry Blossom Festival celebrates spring in Washington, D.C., the gift of the cherry blossom trees, and the enduring friendship between the people of the United States and Japan. It is the perfect time to enjoy the beautiful gift of 3,000 cherry blossom trees that the city of Tokyo gave to our nation’s capital in 1912.
