We don’t have class next Tuesday, November 11. It’s Veterans’ Day. Veterans’ Day was originally to honor Americans who served in World War I. These days, Veterans Day honors all veterans for their loyalty and willingness to serve in the military and sacrifice for our country. Here are some Veterans Day events to visit:
BELOIT
Service, 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Beloit Evangelical Friends Church, 18042 Fifth St. Speaker will be John L. Haigh Sr., former chief steward on Air Force One.
CANAL FULTON
Community Veterans Day program, 3 p.m. Sunday, Northwest High School commons, 8580 Erie Ave. NW. The event will feature speakers from MAPS Air Museum, Loraine High School Junior ROTC, the Ohio Military Museum and Wags 4 Warriors and Service Dogs, as well as the Majestic Voice Chorus, bagpipers.
CANTON
Breakfast and program, 9 a.m. Nov. 11, Belle Stone Elementary School, 305 McKinley Ave. NW. Veterans and the student or staff member to whom they are related are invited to attend.
GREEN
Ceremony, 10:45 a.m. Nov. 11, Green Veterans Memorial Park, 4224 Massillon Road. Refreshments will be served in the John Torok Community/Senior Center following the ceremony.
JACKSON TOWNSHIP
Showing of “Inglourious Basterds,” 3 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Kent State University at Stark, Main Hall Auditorium, 6000 Frank Ave. NW.
